Third Grade Reading

Third graders are reading an average of 20-30 minutes daily in class.  They are expected to also read 20 minutes nightly for homework.  We use a reading log in class and your child is to fill out this log both in class and at home.  The reading logs are due every Friday.  In order to make reading the BEST it can be, please help your student to do the following:

1. Find a great reading spot in the house.

2. Talk to your child about the book that they are reading.

3. Make sure that your child is reading a "Just Right Book" (if they are missing 4 or more words on a page: too difficult).

Welcome to Third Grade

A great math site for parents to access Eureka Math--

I am excited about having a great year with your children.  As this month moves forward, they will become more and more comfortable with the classroom routines and pace.  I am currently setting-up the websites DreamBox and Raz-Kids. We are in the process of updating all information.  All students will be instructed on how to login to both of these sites.
